Barbara is the Chief Counsel for The Student Conservation Association. Most recently, Barbara served as senior vice president and chief counsel for the American Humane Association. Prior to that, she held senior leadership positions with the National Wildlife Federation, the League of Conservation Voters, and the Pew Charitable Trusts. Her work has included domestic and international corporate issues, tax-exempt law, governance, campaign finance, lobbying and ethics, fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational risk assessment functions. She is also an active champion for forging a more diverse conservation community.
Barbara is a member and advisor to Rachel’s Network and has been on the boards of Futurewise (previously, 1000 Friends of Washington) and the King County Bar Foundation, as well as a member of the Washington Women’s Foundation. She is a graduate of Pace University School of Law and holds a Certificate in International Law.
