Daren Garshelis works as Counsel with the Alliance for Justice Bolder Advocacy initiative, where he consults with and trains nonprofit organizations throughout the country on rules and strategies for legal and effective advocacy, including lobbying, election-related activity, and ballot measure advocacy. He also trains foundations on legal ways to support nonprofits who engage in advocacy. He principally works with nonprofits and foundations promoting immigrant, labor, LGBTQ, and reproductive rights, heath care, education, economic justice, and environmental protection.
Daren received a JD from Georgetown, and a BA in Political Science and Spanish, magna cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas (MN). Prior to joining Alliance for Justice, he worked in New York as a litigation associate at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky, and Walker, and as an attorney at El Centro de Educación de Trabajadores.
