Winsome McIntosh has over 40 years of experience in the philanthropic community. She has served on the board of the McIntosh Foundation since 1972, while actively participating in its management and was a Founder of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties in Florida and the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach. McIntosh has served on the Program committee and Host committee of the Council on Foundations and was the Founder and first executive director of the Association of Small Foundations.
She has served on the boards of a number of nonprofit corporations (both local and national) including presently the League of Conservation Voters (emerita), Defenders of Wildlife (Chairman), the Kappa Delta Foundation (Trustee), Rachel’s Network (Founder), the She Should Run Foundation, and ClientEarth, UK (Chairman/Founder). In the for-profit community, she has served on the boards of American Legal Systems, Island National Bank and Trust Company, and presently Mo-DV. Inc., a California software company. She is the recipient of many awards for civic achievement including the Margaret Douglas medal of Achievement (Garden Club of America), the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award, the Florida State University Achievement medal, the Kappa Delta Woman of Achievement Award, and the Women’s eNews 21 Leaders for the 21st Century award for 2014.
Winsome has served as President of Philanthropic Strategies, an independent consultant to major donors, families with Family Foundations, Corporate Foundations and non-profit organizations. She is the Founder of Rachel’s Network, a membership organization of leading women funders for the environment, and its first President for its initial 10 years. Recently, Winsome has been devoting considerable time the ClientEarth, UK, the first public interest law firm for the environment in Europe. She presently serves as its Chairman.
