The Northern California Director will work primarily on AFJ’s Bolder Advocacy program. Bolder Advocacy promotes active engagement in the democratic process by giving nonprofits and foundations the confidence to advocate effectively and by protecting their right to do so. The Northern California Director will be part of a team of skilled advocates and attorneys who provide nonprofits and foundations with the knowledge they need to become confident advocates, and with the resources and tools to help them navigate complex advocacy rules and regulations.
With the ideological make-up of the Supreme Court hanging in the balance, our mission is more important than ever. AFJ seeks a Communications Director for the organization to serve as the organization’s senior communications professional, responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies to promote the organization and its agenda.
AFJ is offering a ten-month public interest fellowship to a person who has recently completed an undergraduate degree program. The fellow, funded by a grant from the CrossCurrents Foundation, will undertake a variety of grassroots organizing and research projects.
AIDS United is a national organization dedicated to the development, analysis, cultivation, and encouragement of sound policies and programs in response to the HIV epidemic. Through the dissemination of information and the building and use of advocacy on behalf of all those living with and affected by HIV, AIDS Action has been instrumental in the development and implementation of major public health policies to improve the quality of life for the estimated 850,000 – 900,000 Americans who are HIV positive.
