Amy Conroy

Director of Development

Amy Conroy is Director of Development at Alliance for Justice. Amy is responsible for designing and overseeing a comprehensive development plan for the organization.

Before coming to AFJ, Amy served as Executive Director of the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum, one of the premier women's history sites in the country and the only museum dedicated to women's equality in the Washington, DC area.  Amy previously served as senior advisor to Grassroots Democrats, a nonprofit political organization raising money for Democratic state and local committees, and as Chief Operations Officer of the League of Conservation Voters and LCV Education Fund, where she oversaw the management of strategic plans and administrative policies for the organization. In the late 1990s, Amy served as executive director of the Women’s Leadership Forum of the Democratic National Committee, and earlier as executive director of the bipartisan Women’s Campaign Fund, providing training and support to pro-choice women candidates at the local, state and federal levels. Earlier in her career, she ran a consulting firm specializing in political and nonprofit financial development, and was development director at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) which promotes political democracy worldwide.  Conroy is serves on the board of the Wonders Childcare Center and on the advisory board of the Women’s Information Network.

Amy holds a M.A. in cultural anthropology from Rutgers State University and a B.A. in cultural anthropology from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
