Christine D. Koerner

Senior Advisor for Strategic Partnerships

Christine D. Koerner is the Senior Advisor for Strategic Partnerships at the Alliance for Justice and the Alliance for Justice Action Campaign. In that role, she works directly with the President, Board of Directors and staff to develop and expand relationships with progressive constituents and to collaborate on special projects to advance the mission.

Chris was instrumental in establishing the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association as  a successful political committee in 2010-11. Prior to that, she served as the National Finance Director for the 2008 Biden for President Campaign. She spent eight years at the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America) as the Vice President of Political Outreach and Development  where she designed, managed, and marketed comprehensive development and political communications strategies to advance the fundraising and political objectives of the association. In addition, she designed and implemented a successful fundraising and volunteer attorney strategy that brought more than 1,200 victim’s families and 1,700 attorneys to Trial Lawyers Care, the pro bono effort established by ATLA to help bring families of 9/11 victims to the Victims Compensation Fund.

In l996, Chris launched the first Department of Women’s Initiatives at the American Physical Therapy Association, which addressed issues of sexual harassment and brought attention and recognition to the female members of the association. Previously, she spent 10 years as an independent political consultant, developing political and fundraising strategies for candidates and progressive nonprofit organizations. Highlights of this work include leading the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s efforts in the aftermath of the Clarence Thomas Hearings to raise funds for women candidates and nominees.

Her early experience included time in the Office of Labor Liaison in the Carter White House and as a staff assistant and volunteer for Senator Biden. Koerner graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science.
