Shannon Billings

Director of Advocacy Programs

Shannon M. Billings serves as Director of Advocacy Programs at Alliance for Justice. She is responsible for strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of the program. Prior to joining AFJ, she was Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer at the Sierra Club. At the Sierra Club, Shannon worked with staff and volunteers to ensure that programs complied with federal tax law, campaign finance laws and lobbying and ethics regulations. Shannon’s experience also includes serving as Director of Public Affairs for the Investment Company Institute (ICI), the national association for mutual funds and their advisors, where she organized political events, managed political action committees, and directed election law, lobbying and ethics compliance programs. Prior to working at ICI, she served as controller for EMILY's List and in the controller’s office at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.  (B.A., Bates College).
