"Judge Sonia Sotomayor again proved why she deserves swift confirmation to the Supreme Court.  On the second full day of questioning, she showed astonishing grace under not just pressure, but repeated badgering by some Republican senators.  If the hearing room were a trial, more than one 'asked and answered' objection would have been sustained today.  Rather than taking the opportunity to explore the breadth and depth of Judge Sotomayor's 17-year record, several Republicans instead chose to belabor a few politically charged talking points.  Throughout it all, Judge Sotomayor maintained her thoughtful demeanor while providing thorough answers that demonstrate her mastery of the law."
