Perhaps now we should begin to seriously question the independence of the federal judiciary, or, at the very least, stand amazed at the extent to which the fear-mongering Bush administration has convinced judges that oppressive, draconian measures are necessary and appropriate tools to confront terrorism.  Though repeatedly reversed by even the increasingly conservative Supreme Court, many of the federal courts of appeals continue to serve as the unofficial agitprops of the "War on Terror."
