Helene N. White
U.S. Court of Appeals - Sixth Circuit
On April 15, 2008, President Bush nominated Helene N. White, a judge on the Michigan Court of Appeals since 1993, to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Judge White was first nominated to the Sixth Circuit by President Clinton on January 7, 1997. Judge White's 1997-2001 nomination holds the record for longest federal judicial nomination in U.S. history never to have been acted upon. If confirmed, Judge White would replace Judge Susan Bieke Neilson, deceased.
