About Advocacy
The Nonprofit Advocacy Project (NAP) and Foundation Advocacy Initiative (FAI) work to strengthen the voice of the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors in important public policy debates by giving tax-exempt organizations a better understanding of the laws that govern their participation in the policy process. The advocacy information and training Alliance for Justice provides to the nonprofit sector encourages greater civic participation in our democratic system of government by groups speaking on behalf of underrepresented communities.
Alliance for Justice offers a wide range of services to the sector, consisting of professionally planned and executed workshops, publications, technical assistance, and public education activities on behalf of the nonprofit sector. Alliance for Justice's comprehensive program provides information and training on the legal parameters of nonprofit and foundation advocacy, plain-language legal guides to refer to as advocacy campaigns are planned, and real-time technical assistance to answer questions about advocacy projects as they are implemented. Utilizing the resources of staff attorney-trainers, NAP and FAI serve the advocacy needs of 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) and other 501(c)s, and 527 organizations through Workshops, Research and Publications, Technical assistance, Public Policy, a Speaker Series, and outreach to Lawyers & Accountants.
