James Bopp, the attorney representing conservative group Citizens United, has filed an appeal regarding Tuesday's ruling by a three-judge panel that the group's documentary Hillary: The Movie must abide by FEC rules regulating political ads in the days leading up to an election, reports BNA Money & Politics. The article notes that Mr. Bopp's appeal places "the case on a possible fast track to the Supreme Court," (subscription required).
An opinion piece appearing today in Roll Call attempts to deride some of the recent media criticism of last year's Honest Leadership and Open Government Act. The article, submitted by the Campaign Legal Center, boasts that although the legislation is not without flaws, "the law, with its new restrictions on lobbyists’ gifts and travel and increased disclosure requirements, is a significant improvement."
