The Hill reports today that the House and Senate Ethics Committees are in disagreement over renewed interest regarding a longstanding loophole to 1995's Federal Lobbying Disclosure Act. The article goes on to note that while the House Ethics Committee supports the continuation of allowing lobbyists to present members of Congress with free tickets to high-profile charitable events, the Senate Ethics Committee has "withheld approval."
An article appearing in today's Roll Call notes that while 2007 may be known to lobbyists as a year of ethics reform, "much of the 2008 agenda is likely to be consumed with figuring how to implement last year’s reforms and identifying where additional fixes will be required."
