Marina is the Executive Assistant to the President and Vice President of Programs and Operations at Alliance for Justice. A native Texan, she comes to AFJ after completing her studies at the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Government and another in Rhetoric and Writing with Liberal Arts Honors. While at UT, Marina began interning for U.S. Congressman Lloyd Doggett who represents the 35th District of Texas. She then transitioned into interning in Rep. Doggett’s Constituent Services department and soon became a Constituent Services Aide. For her last six months in Texas, she transitioned into the role of Congressional Aide. At Congressman Doggett’s office, Marina spent much of her time building relationships in the community and accompanying the Congressman to many of his events. Although she loves Texas, Marina is excited to finally have cold winters and see the cherry blossoms in bloom.
When she’s not working, Marina likes to spend her time watching too much reality TV, reading political memoirs, and taking naps with her Italian-Greyhound mix, Stella. She is passionate about women in politics, civil rights, bubble tea, and Philz Coffee.
