For almost a decade, Alliance for Justice has worked with organizations throughout the state of Texas, providing workshops, expert technical assistance, and educational resources on the laws related to lobbying and election activity.
Texas has the third largest nonprofit community in the country and a wealth of organizations doing good work to serve their communities. As a result, AFJ opened an office in Dallas in 2015 to expand our capacity to provide Texas-based nonprofits and foundations with the knowledge and confidence to advocate effectively.
Through our Bolder Advocacy Initiative, we offer extensive training to nonprofit organizations and funders on the laws and regulations governing nonprofit communication on policy issues. We work to demystify nonprofit advocacy rules, to protect the right of nonprofits to advocate on behalf of the communities they serve, and to build the advocacy capacity of local nonprofit organizations. AFJ’s Texas Director conducts workshops and trainings, and provides one-on-one technical assistance over the phone, email, and in-person at our office. In addition to our expertise on the federal rules, AFJ has developed a library of materials on Texas state rules and works regularly to update these state-specific resources. Our training and coaching enables organizations to become better advocates and emboldens them to make their voices heard.
