Rakim Brooks has been tapped as its next president. A lawyer, he most recently was a senior campaign strategist for the ACLU’s Systemic Equality Campaign and previously served in former President Barack Obama’s administration as a policy adviser for the Treasury Department.

Rakim will succeed the organization’s founder, Nan Aron, who has led the justice group for 42 years.
