WASHINGTON, D.C., October 17 – In response to today’s ruling by a U.S. District judge in Hawaii blocking the Trump administration from enforcing key parts of the latest version of President Donald Trump’s travel ban, Alliance for Justice President Nan Aron released the following statement:

“Today’s action by the District of Hawaii underscores the critical need for an independent judiciary that upholds our constitutional rights. The latest version of President Trump’s travel ban dripped with the same discrimination and intolerance as the first and second iterations. Once again, Trump is demonstrating an utter lack of respect for the federal judiciary. The administration’s continued efforts to enforce this unconstitutional travel ban are an attempt to bully the federal courts into rubber stamping his discriminatory agenda, ignoring both binding precedent and their core responsibility to uphold the constitutionality of our laws.”
