WASHINGTON, D.C., June 26, 2019 – Following tonight’s Democratic presidential primary debate, AFJ President Nan Aron released the following statement:
“The fact that federal courts, including the Supreme Court, came up in tonight’s first presidential primary debate sends a very clear message about how important this issue has become to the American people. People are disgusted by Mitch McConnell’s theft of a Supreme Court seat and President Trump’s appointment of anti-woman, anti-worker, anti-civil rights, anti-LGBTQ federal judges at all levels. We want to hear much more about the type of judges presidential candidates would nominate, but tonight was a good start and we’re looking forward to a robust national conversation on this issue.”
