WASHINGTON, D.C., May 16, 2018 – Alliance for Justice today released a report on the record of Britt Grant, Donald Trump’s nominee for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. AFJ President Nan Aron released the following statement:

“With Britt Grant’s nomination, the Trump Administration is doubling down on its plan to pack the courts with people whose records show a narrow-minded, elitist approach to the law and who will be on the bench for decades. Grant has less than 12 years of legal experience. In that time she has carried out legal work on behalf of an inventory of ultraconservative causes, including opposition to reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights and voting rights. This kind of ideological record is exactly what Trump and right-wing allies are looking for, as evidenced by the fact that Grant is also on Trump’s Supreme Court short list, despite her comparatively short career. Senators should resist this attempt to ram through the confirmation of another very young and very ideological nominee.”
