Rakim H.D. Brooks, president of the progressive group Alliance for Justice, praised the committee for advancing the nominees Thursday in a statement, and called on the Senate to swiftly confirm the available circuit picks. Brooks said it was “disappointing” that a “logjam is developing in the Senate confirmation process.”

“Even when those are confirmed, another dozen vacancies will still remain on our circuit courts,” Brooks said. “We see the damage that conservative judges and justices are doing to our democracy, so filling every judicial vacancy must be a top priority for the Senate and the White House for the rest of 2022. Let’s not wait to find out what happens in November.”
