WASHINGTON, D.C., March 22, 2017 – Following the issuance of the Supreme Court’s decision in Endrew F. v. Douglas County School District, Alliance for Justice President Nan Aron issued the following statement:

“Today, the Supreme Court offered a stinging rebuke to Judge Gorsuch’s reasoning that the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act requires an education program providing merely a minimal level of educational progress for students with disabilities. Judge Gorsuch’s record on respecting the rights of people with disabilities is deeply troubling, and his position on the educational opportunities owed to children with these challenges has always been exceptionally callous. This unanimous rejection of Judge Gorsuch’s application of the law designed to ensure that all students have full and fair educational opportunities demonstrates how dangerous he would be as a Supreme Court justice.”
