WASHINGTON, DC, February 11, 2020 – In their very first vote after acquitting President Donald Trump on two articles of impeachment, Senate Republicans voted to confirm Andrew Brasher to a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Alliance for Justice President Nan Aron released the following statement:

β€œIt’s not surprising that the first action taken by the Senate after the impeachment trial is to continue its relentless campaign to pack the courts. Andrew Brasher has supported gutting the Voting Rights Act, race-based gerrymandering, and laws requiring voter ID, requiring proof of citizenship, and disenfranchising felons. Confirmations like this show what a mockery the Senate Republicans have made of the advice and consent process.”
