We Applaud Dr. Ford’s Courage

Washington DC, September 16, 2018 – Following a decision to come forward by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has reported that she was assaulted by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, AFJ President Nan Aron released the following statement:

“Ever since the days when Anita Hill came forward decades ago, we have known that such a decision takes the utmost courage and comes at extraordinary personal risk. We applaud Dr. Ford’s courage, and we believe her. This is a gravely serious development and it is unacceptable that even now Republicans are trying to insist that this nomination process go forward; it cannot proceed under these circumstances.”
