“We’ll be watching” Gorsuch on the High Court

WASHINGTON, D.C., April 7, 2017  – Commenting on the confirmation vote today that will place the ultraconservative Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court,  Alliance for Justice President Nan Aron issued the following statement: 

“The Senate has just confirmed an individual to the Supreme Court whose record is hostile to our rights and liberties. His confirmation continues the rightward march of the Roberts Court, which has already staked out pro-big-business stances at the expense of everyday people. One thing is certain: the many people who took part in the national debate around Gorsuch will not forget how this nomination was rammed through. We’ll be closely watching his actions on the court, and we will oppose any future judicial nominees who are out of touch with core constitutional values.”
