The courts are where major decisions on the issues we care about are happening, and right now many of those decisions are being made by President Trump’s judges. These federal judges and nominees to the bench pose a serious and ongoing threat to our rights and freedoms. They often have records of favoring the interests of the wealthy and powerful at the expense of the rights and safety of workers, consumers, LGBTQ  individuals, people of color, women, and immigrants. They have opposed reproductive rights, attacked the LGBTQ community, dismantled protections for clean air and water, fought to deny voting rights, and challenged the rights of immigrants and persons with disabilities.

The rights we have won through legislation are in danger of being diminished or completely overturned in the courts. Look at the Affordable Care Act – efforts to repeal it failed in Congress, but now the appeals and challenges to this critical act are being heard by Trump-appointed judges with a record of opposing the ACA. It’s hard to imagine that a court ruled by a conservative ideologue would uphold this law when given the opportunity to strike it down. Millions of people are at risk of losing their health insurance because of Trump’s judges.

To highlight how the federal judiciary is being altered, we’ve broken it down by issue area. Click on an issue below to learn about the records of Trump nominees, including their records before joining the bench.
