Julia O’Connell is Alliance for Justice’s Development Associate, where she assists the Development Team in securing funds for AFJ’s many initiatives and projects, with a particular focus on Foundation funders. Prior to being elevated to her current position, Julia worked as AFJ’s Development Intern. She previously worked as an intern for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, where she advocated for unprejudiced, fact-based cannabis legislation that would no longer disproportionately hurt minority communities. She graduated from the George Washington University summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in May of 2021. In her free time, Julia enjoys community service, hiking, and reading fiction.
