Maya (she/her) serves as the Associate for Outreach and Membership at Alliance for Justice where she leads outreach initiatives with national and state progressive groups.
Prior to joining AFJ, Maya worked as an Intern Coordinator for the California Democratic Party and as a Fellow for Swing Left. In these roles, she developed coalition-building, leadership, and grassroots organizing skills that she is excited to bring to AFJ. Maya recently graduated from Scripps College with a B.A. in Political Science where she successfully headed the fight to push her college to divest from fossil fuels. Maya also served as the Student Body President at Scripps, where she led a 501(c)3 organization and 18-member board to accomplish several large-scale financial equity projects. She is deeply committed to gender and racial justice with substantial experience working on prison abolition and criminal justice reform.
